A charming antique French armoire from Brittany. This is an early piece, most probably dating from the beginning of the 19th century but it could possibly be earlier. It is very petite by French standards making it ideal for cottages and properties with difficult access. It is made of oak with a dark stain finish and is dominated by exceptional large brass escutcheons. Internally it is clean and comes with the original 3 shelves. One of which has a small drawer. The shelves have been covered with a pretty cotton fabric ensuring they are clean and ready to use.
This armoire is fully knockdown, dissembling into manageable pieces for ease of transport. Being an older armoire it is held together using wooden dowel pegs. It will require 2 people to assemble. Buyers will receive a step by step guide to help them.
Condition: Good. As above, this is a very old piece and as such it has a few small age related idiosyncrasies but once assembled is structurally very sound. It has experienced woodworm in the past and has been fully treated prior to sale.
