A striking pair of authentic French chalkware statuettes. These are beautifully aged gilded figures of a man and women. The lady holds a basket in one hand and possibly food wrapped in linen in the other. The gentlemen appears poised to begin a game of Boules. Dating probably from the early 1900s, these are hugely characterful, with areas of wear and chipping all adding to the charm.

Condition: Good. There is some damage to the ladies elbow (see large photos). This is only visible from behind. Both statuettes are structurally very sound.
