A beautiful, highly characterful antique French armoire/vitrine. This dates from the late 1800s and is quite short for this style of armoire making it ideal for the average UK home. With partially glazed doors, it would originally have been used in a dining room or kitchen setting to store china and glasses. Externally the armoire has been sympathetically painted and waxed to enhance the period detailing. The doors feature beautiful brass escutcheons and the original brass hinges. Internally, it has been enlivened with a vibrant Peacock blue paint and offers substantial storage with 4 thick cut oak shelves. The armoire comes with the original fully working key.
This armoire is fully knockdown, dissembling into manageable pieces for ease of transport. Being an older armoire it is held together with wooden dowel pegs. It will require 2 people to assemble. Buyers will receive a step by step guide to help them.
