An incredibly striking, highly carved oak French armoire. Dating from the early 1900s, this piece hails from Brittany and has an impressive high cornice, beautifully carved sides and 2 bevelled mirror doors. Internally it is very clean and offers exceptional storage, retaining the 3 original thick cut shelves and a base drawer. Externally, the armoire has been sympathetically painted and waxed to enhance the character and detailing. This armoire is fully knockdown, dissembling into manageable pieces for ease of transport. It is very straightforward to assemble but buyers will receive a step by step guide to help them should they need it. Paint: Fired Earth ‘Verd Antique’ eco-friendly eggshell Finish: Clear wax Condition: Very good. As with most French furniture of this age it has experienced some woodworm in the past but this is very minimal. It has been fully treated as a precaution. Note that the key does not turn the lock.
