Two delightful oak carved pediments, one from Brittany and one from Normandy. These could be used to adorn a piece of furniture such as an armoire or buffet, or in an enterance hall over the door, or simply as in interesting wall hanging. Both date from the early 1900s and are beautifully carved. One, depicts the typical Breton motifs of the ships steering wheel, the sailor and the maiden, with a beautifully figured fishermans cottage by the harbour wall. The Norman one shows the typical Heraldic motifs of the Norman castle with a knight'scross and an elegantly carved acanthus leaf surround.
Measurements: Breton H: 101 cm, W: 28 cm, Normandy H: 110 cm, W: 21 cm.
