A fine example of a vintage Peugeot Freres Coffee Mill, circa 1930. These unique ‘boite et tirior’ coffee mills were the first home use coffee grinders and they were made and patented by the Peugeot brothers long before they started producing cars. This mill has a 'Laiton calotte’ or 'Brass cap' which is quite unusual and very rare. The brass name plate shows the traditional Peugeot lion and that it was manufactured at their Valentigney factory near Paris. The wood is a natural honey coloured, and shows the mortice and tennon joints to good effect. This coffee mill is in very good condition for its age and is in perfect working order. It has been fully cleaned internally and is ready to use.
