A beautifully proportioned authentic French armoire. Made of Cherrywood with a fantastic colour and grain, this is a stunning piece which dates from the late 1800s. The doors have the original huge brass escutcheons and beautiful flame patterned grain. Internally, the armoire comes with the original set of shelves and internal drawer. Externally the wood has a beautiful warm rich patina which is complimented by the brass of the hinges and escutcheons. This piece has been lovingly looked after and would be an arresting focal point in any room.
This armoire is fully knockdown, dissembling into manageable pieces for ease of transport. Being an older armoire it is held together with wooden dowel pegs. It will require 2 people to assemble. Buyers will receive a step by step guide to help them.
Condition: Very good. As with all French furniture of this age there are idiosyncrasies and signs of wear as well as evidence of past historical woodworm. It has been fully treated as a precaution and is structurally very sound once assembled. There is a small piece missing from the back of the cornice on the right hand side (see larger photos).
Measurements: H: 226 cm, W: 143 cm (widest point - cornice), D:51 cm
