A beautifully proportioned authentic French armoire. Made of light oak, this is a lovingly cared for piece which dates from the late 1800s. The doors and cornice have have pretty carved detailing and the armoire retains its original striking brass escutcheons. Internally, it comes with a set of shelves and a large internal drawer. Externally the wood has a beautiful warm patina, complemented by the brass of the hinges and door escutcheons. It comes with the original internal locking hook and a fully working key.
This armoire is fully knockdown, dissembling into manageable pieces for ease of transport. Being an older armoire it is held together with wooden dowel pegs. It will require 2 people to assemble. Buyers will receive a step by step guide to help them.
Condition: Very good. As with all French furniture of this age there are idiosyncrasies and signs of wear as well as evidence of past historical woodworm. It has been fully treated as a precaution and is structurally very sound once assembled.
